History

Nexa was founded in 1999 in Irvine, California and quickly launched the first retail multi lingual trading application in 2000. Then in 2001, Nexa entered into a strategic and financial partnership with Penson Worldwide, resulting in numerous collective successes. Initially, they together launched customizable web-based trading solutions. In 2002, multiple accomplishments were realized, such as the launch of the middle office and risk management solution for Penson, as well as the completion of the integration of the Penson and SunGard systems.
 
Highlights include:
2002: launched futures trading capabilities
Completed integration with Pershing and Harris Direct
 
2003: Launch of Canadian markets capabilities
Completed integration with IBM/ISM and Disnat Direct Canada
 
2004: Penson Worldwide acquire Nexa Technologies.
Launch of European OMS services.
 
2005: Penson Worldwide acquires Tick Data and Merges with Nexa.
Expands tick equity database to include European and Canadian high-frequency data.
Nexa Adds trading access to European exchanges.
 
2008: Completes migration to a new state-of-the-art data center in Nutley, New Jersey.
